Visit Lasergraphics at IBC2015 – Stand 7.F01

September 2, 2015 Broadcast & Playout Events News Production, Post Production 0

Lasergraphics introduced the ScanStation Personal (“Personal”), the newest and most affordable member of its internationally renowned family of motion picture film scanners. Professional quality film scanning is now an affordable solution for all small archives — and it is shipping immediately!
Like the popular ScanStation, the sprocketless Personal scans old, delicate film that is shrunken up to 5%, including 35mm, 28mm, 17.5mm, 16mm, Super 16mm, 9.5mm, 8mm, and Super 8mm film. It scans images and optical or magnetic soundtracks directly to 5K DPX or TIFF, sound-sync’d 4K/UHD/HD ProRes, and WAV without the need for any post-processing. The Personal’s 2D optical pin-registration automatically adjusts for shrunken film.
The Personal can be tailored to individual requirements, allowing customers to choose only the features they need. This flexibility enables the Personal to compete more effectively for end users with very specific requirements or budgetary constraints. Scanning at up to 30 frames per second, the Personal offers a maximum resolution of 5K for 35mm, 2.5K for 16mm and 1.2K for 8mm film.
Unlike vendors who only sell a do-it-yourself scanning “head”, Lasergraphics offers the Personal as a complete turnkey system including the host computer with preinstalled, preconfigured software. The customer receives everything needed to immediately begin scanning film and sound right out of the box. The Personal is designed to be a high-volume production tool requiring minimal operator intervention. Its ergonomic design facilitates quick and easy film loading.
When customers contact Lasergraphics for technical support, they are never shunted to a call center employee who reads the manual to them. Instead, they receive direct help from the very engineers who designed the product in the first place. Such personalized and knowledgeable service is unique in today’s web-enabled self-help environment — and Lasergraphics’ customers love it.
Lasergraphics has “future proofed” its customers’ investments in the Personal. As their scanning needs increase, customers can trade-in their Personal for a Lasergraphics ScanStation or Director film scanner.
For more than 30 years, Lasergraphics has been at the forefront of film imaging system technology. The explosive growth in storage and computing power enables file-based workflows to vastly outperform conventional methods. The ScanStation is the fastest and highest resolution way to make film available in digital form.
Since 1981, Lasergraphics has been at the forefront of film imaging system innovation — film scanners are Lasergraphics’ central focus, not an afterthought. The company continues investing heavily in film scanning R&D and releasing new film scanner capabilities. Customers never have to worry about obsolescence because Lasergraphics always makes each new capability available to its existing customers.
