Matrox to Showcase SDI to ST 2110 Solutions at IBC 2017
Streaming and recording appliances for webcasting and lecture capture featured at stand 7.B29

Matrox® Video announced their lineup of products for IBC 2017 (Amsterdam, Sept. 15–19, stand 7.B29). With over 40 years of experience, Matrox continues to focus on meeting the evolving needs of broadcasters in an IP-enabled world.
Matrox will be displaying their lineup of video-aware broadcast IP cards, the live-streaming capable Monarch HDX & Monarch HD encoding appliances, and the award-winning Monarch LCS lecture capture appliance, optimized for integration with 3rd party video management systems (VMSs). In addition, Matrox will have their OEM product experts on hand to demonstrate and discuss the comprehensive line-up of Matrox DSX developer products.

Matrox X.mio3 IP & DSX LE4 IP — Broadcast IP Cards with SMPTE 2110 Support

Matrox X.mio3 IP & DSX LE4 IP
Recently adding broadcast IP cards to its DSX developer product line, Matrox now provides a diversified range of SMPTE 2110-ready cards2 suited for every system design and budget.
The Matrox DSX LE4 IP3 provides IP encapsulation of HD, 3G, and 4K video for all IP transport protocols, along with the added security of ST 2022-7 redundancy as well as non-bursty packet transmission/reception—all provided on-board the card with zero CPU usage.
The powerful X.mio3 IP4 expands upon the LE4 IP’s feature set by providing onboard de-interlacing, as well as broadcast-quality scaling and compositing—freeing up CPU cycles for other on-system processing.

Matrox Monarch HDX & Monarch HD — Professional Streaming and Recording Appliances Offering Live Streaming to Social Media

Matrox Monarch HD (top)
and Monarch HDX (bottom)

At €1995 and €995 respectively, the affordable Matrox Monarch HDX and Monarch HD are fully enabled streaming and recording devices, now empowered with native integration for live streaming to two of the world’s most popular social media platforms, Facebook and YouTube. All that is needed is to pair the device with these accounts once and it will be automatically retained for all subsequent streams.
Monarch HDX is a compact, easy-to-use, single input, dual-channel H.264 encoding appliance6. Two independent H.264 encoders allow streaming to two distinct destinations or the device can be set to stream and/or record with independent encoder settings. Designed for complete workflow flexibility, Monarch HDX features 3G-SDI and HDMI inputs with frame synchronization to compensate for unstable sources.
Monarch HD is a professional encoding appliance7, capable of taking an HDMI input from a source such as a camera or switcher and generating an H.264-encoded stream suitable for live streaming. Simultaneously—for editing or VOD—the HD can record a higher quality MP4 or MOV file to an SD card, a USB drive, or a network-mapped drive.

Matrox Monarch LCS — Lecture Capture Appliance with Enhanced Video Platform Interoperability

Matrox Monarch LCS
In a continuing effort to offer affordable lecture capture for every classroom, Matrox has integrated a strong suite of interoperability-focused features into the Monarch LCS lecture capture appliance9.  With on-system scheduling and store & forward functionality, the LCS has been optimized to seamlessly operate with popular third party VMSs, including Ensemble Video, Kaltura, Presentations2Go, StreamShark and TechSmith Relay.
The powerful lecture capture capabilities of the stand-alone appliance include flexible inputs (SDI/HDMI or HMDI/HDMI), simplified mixing with integrated production layouts (picture-in-picture or side-by-side) and synchronized dual encoding allowing for multi-stream playback, putting layout control in the hands of the viewer. The easy-to-use Monarch LCS10 is also easy on the budget, attractively priced at just €2495.

Matrox DSX Developer Products

Matrox DSX Developer Products
Matrox technology enables OEMs to create advanced broadcast graphics systems, video servers, channel-in-a-box equipment, contribution and distribution encoders, and non-linear editing systems that provide 24/7 reliability in even the most demanding environments.
Through the DSX LE412 and X.mio313 product lines, Matrox delivers a full range of PCI Express I/O cards that are designed for optimal performance, flexibility and scalability. In addition to the broadcast IP cards, Matrox provides high-density SDI cards with up to 12 reconfigurable inputs and outputs, supporting SDI, 3G SDI and 12G SDI for SD through 4K/UHD resolutions.
The M264 Series of PCI Express cards14 deliver unprecedented H.264 density, with the lowest power consumption, in the smallest footprint. While the highest-end PCs can only manage to encode one stream of 4K XAVC class 300, Matrox’s line of M264 cards can encode/decode up to three streams of 4K XAVC class 480@60fps, 4K XAVC Long GOP or 4K AVC-Ultra—in real-time.
Matrox’s DSX Core15 includes the complete set of software modules for media processing OEMs need to create datacenter-friendly, virtualized IP broadcast solutions running on COTS machines that can be easily repurposed as needed.

Matrox Graphics Products

Matrox Graphics will also be demonstrating the latest in IP KVM and multi-4K encoding technologies17, with the newly launched Extio 3 IP KVM extender and Maevex 6150 4K quad enterprise encoder, offering broadcasters a preview of how these powerful products can fit in their workflows.[:en]
